It’s come to our attention that there was an error in this week’s print edition of Loudoun Now. We are not, repeat, NOT moving the Festival to Monday.
There is still a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon, which might lead us pause programming temporarily to seek shelter, but activities will resume as soon as the storm passes.
Hope to see you all on SATURDAY for the Best Day of the Year in Round Hill!
The Hometown Festival committee would like to thank the following businesses for being sign sponsors for this year’s Festival. Local businesses like these help make the Hometown Festival the Best Day of the Year in Round Hill!
While it’s rained on our parade before, we are keeping our fingers crossed it won’t again. But given the rain we’ve had the last few Saturdays, we are making alternate plans and, yes, *obsessively* checking the weather forecast! Rest assured, the 20th Annual Hometown Festival WILL GO ON, rain or shine and we hope you will still come out and join in the fun either way!
Our morning events — the 5k and parade — are on schedule rain or shine. The Downhill Derby will be cancelled if the Race Director feels the road is too wet to safely run the race. If the forecast is for intermittent showers, we will proceed with all planned entertainment and activities (including food and drink) in the Town Park and downtown area, using tents as shelter if needed. If thunder and lightning develop, we will pause programming until the storm passes. Shelter can be found at the Round Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue and the Round Hill Baptist Church. If by Thursday it looks like the day will be a 100% washout, then we have Round Hill Elementary School reserved as a full-day rain site.
Please check this page for further updates as we get closer to the Festival, and keep your fingers crossed for sunny skies and a break in this month’s pattern of rainy Saturdays!
The Festival Committee is thrilled to partner with the Round Hill Baptist Church again this year to offer a stage dedicated to showcasing Western Loudoun’s talented youth! This year we will feature performers from both Woodgrove HS and Loudoun Valley. Be sure to check them out!
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Hometown Festival, we offer a throwback to the days when the Hometown Festival Community Feast was a scrumptious meal by Savoir Faire served and eaten in the middle of Main Street!
While this year’s Feast will be in the Town Park instead of Main Street, it will be once again catered by Round Hill’s own award-winning Savoir Faire!
Joan Wolford and her crew will be offering a variety of delicious menu items, including: Joan’s famous berry, chicken salad, seafood tortellini, or grilled flank steak salads fresh off the grill barbecue chicken with baked beans and cole slaw a children’s meal of grilled chicken breast, mac’n’cheese and fruit desserts from Savoir Faire and Cosmic Confections
Items will be available at different stations in the park and priced by the plate or a la carte. No reservations or prepayment required!
Wine by Williams Gap Winery and beer from Dirt Farm Brewing will be available as well as soft drinks. ID required for adult beverages.
Dinner begins at 5 p.m. and music will be provided by Irish jam group The Silver Linings, followed at 7:15 p.m. by Mink’s Miracle Medicine, featuring Loudoun-county natives Melissa Wright and special guest Round Hill’s own Rudy Byzdyk!
Come join your friends, family and neighbors for an evening celebrating our small-town community!
